For a class of n × n-matrices, we get related real solutions to the matrix equation Φt (A) = 1/n Jn by generalizing the approach of and applying the results of Zhang, Yang, and Cao [SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl., 21 (1999), pp. 642–645]. These solutions contain not only those obtained by Zhang, Yang, and Cao but also some which are neither diagonally nor permutation equivalent to those obtained by Zhang, Yang, and Cao. Therefore, the open problem proposed by Zhang, Yang, and Cao in the cited paper is solved

Global Attractivity of a Circadian Pacemaker Model in a Periodic Environment

In this paper, we propose a delay differential equation with continuous periodic parameters to model the circadian pacemaker in a periodic environment. First, we show the existence of a positive periodic solution by using the theory of coincidence degree. Then we establish the global attractivity of the periodic solution under two su±cient conditions. These conditions are easily verifiable and are independent of each other. Some numerical simulations are also performed to demonstrate the main results

Desynchronization of Large Scale Delayed Neural Networks

We consider a ring of identical neurons with delayed nearest neighborhood inhibitory interaction. Under general conditions, such a network has a slowly oscillatory synchronous periodic solution which is completely characterized by a scalar delay di erential equation with negative feedback. Despite the fact that the slowly oscillatory periodic solution of the scalar equation is stable, we show that the associated synchronous solution is unstable if the size of the network is large

A New Paradigm of Maximizing the Wind and Solar Penetration– a Economical Assessment

Wind and solar energies are the most potential and widely-used renewable energies. But in most cases these energies cannot be maximized because of transmission line capacity and their remote location. Therefore, this thesis proposes a new paradigm which using battery transportation and logistics instead of transmission line, to maximize wind and solar energies. The main focus of this work is to investigate the economical feasibilities of this new paradigm. In the first part, different models and application are presented. The purpose is finding an appropriate model which can make full use of existing grid resources such as transmission line and power distribution network. In the second part, total costing of this new paradigm and details are listed. Different parts of cost are analyzed, such as costing of construction of wind farm, costing of battery and costing of transportation. Then, the tendency of all parts of costing with years is introduced based on the information from internet news, company files and organization forecasting. In the third part, key parameters which infect costing most are listed, some assuming are presented for forecasting. Then, cost of this new paradigm is compared to traditional way. The trend line of the traditional way and the trend line of the new paradigm will cross over based on the projection

Place recognition: An Overview of Vision Perspective

Place recognition is one of the most fundamental topics in computer vision and robotics communities, where the task is to accurately and efficiently recognize the location of a given query image. Despite years of wisdom accumulated in this field, place recognition still remains an open problem due to the various ways in which the appearance of real-world places may differ. This paper presents an overview of the place recognition literature. Since condition invariant and viewpoint invariant features are essential factors to long-term robust visual place recognition system, We start with traditional image description methodology developed in the past, which exploit techniques from image retrieval field. Recently, the rapid advances of related fields such as object detection and image classification have inspired a new technique to improve visual place recognition system, i.e., convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Thus we then introduce recent progress of visual place recognition system based on CNNs to automatically learn better image representations for places. Eventually, we close with discussions and future work of place recognition.Comment: Applied Sciences (2018

The Impact of Inclusive Leadership on Employee Well-being: The Mediating Role of Organizational Trust

In recent years, people pay more and more attention to employees' work experience and mental health, especially employee well-being. Leadership style is one of the factors that affect employee well-being. Recently, there have been more and more researches on inclusive leadership in China. However, the research on the relationship between inclusive leadership and employee well-being in China is still in its infancy, and the mechanism between the two still needs to be further studied. This paper investigates the mediating effect of organizational trust on the relationship between inclusive leadership and employee well-being by using a questionnaire survey of Chinese workers. Based on a survey of 153 participants, the results show that organizational trust can mediate the positive impact of inclusive leadership on employee well-being. At the same time, after the addition of organizational trust as an intermediate variable, the study found that the establishment of organizational trust has a driving effect on improving employee well-being
